      SR102 alternates for modem only

      Hi All

I have a Sky SR102 and an Asus RT-AC3200 for my home networking.
I wish to have a SR102 in modem only mode.
From what I have read, this is not possible to do on the SR102 or any Sky routers.

What are my options for getting a modem that will work with Sky Fibre?
My end goal is to let my Asus see the WAN IP Address (currently it shows the WAN IP as 192.168.0.2 / this is because its connected to the SR102 as a device)

      Thanks

      X

Buy a Huawei HG612 modem off that well known auction site, you can then unlock it and see line stats as well. This setup works well with the Asus RT routers.

Another vote for the HG612 and they can be acquired for around 15 from said site.

Not without buying an out of the box Sky compatible modem/router. It's not difficult though.

Re: SR102 alternates for modem only

Just bought one at Auction for 15.80 (inc Delivery costs)
      Hopefully delivered by 25th Nov.

So how do I "unlock it" and use it for my Sky connection?
I am trying to look for a guide, but cant find one.

Re: SR102 alternates for modem only

Firstly, if you have not yet extracted your username and password from the 102. There's a little tool I put together to do that, it's linked on MSG #1 of this thread:-

Simple tool for extracting the username and password from YOUR router.

Now you've got that, get your Asus ready by getting the Merlin firmware for it and installing it.

Next, you want to unlock your or modem, you only need to do this if you want the stats, it will work perfectly fine without unlocking, go to this link and follow the instructions:-
