      Swap SR102 for a D7000?

I'm looking to swap my existing Sky SR102 for another all in one unit to work with Sky Fibre.
I'm looking for something with better WiFi signal and multiple WiFi networks where I could have one active 24/7 and another switch off at certain times for the kids.
Also, parental controls would be good as we have our own children and foster children using the connection.

How would you rate the Netgear D7000 and the Genie software?

Also, what's the easiest method for extracting my username and password from my SR102?

Thanks for any advice at all.

Looks like I've managed to extract a username and password from my SR102 using Wireshark and a Youtube guide.

      I get:

      =xxxxxxxxxxxx@skydsl|xxxxxxxx

I take it the bit before the line (|) is the username and the 8 digits after the password?
Is the equals sign part of it or should that be removed?

The D7000 is a good modem/router, it's very easy to setup with Sky and as you can see I use one!

You can schedule it to block services or sites on a schedule. As for the parental controls I could not say as both my parents have long since left this mortal coil.

There are no children using my network so i can not really comment, but I would be surprised if it does not work as netgear states as its one of the selling points of the D7000.

Got this just as you said to, but can I ask why? Is it needed for anything?

      Re: Swap SR102 for a D7000?

You'll see an option for it in the D7000.

It's actually part of the sky authentication process, some users say its not needed and maybe it isn't... at present.

Read the PDF in the following message thread, msg #10. I've tried to explain it there.

Simple tool for extracting the username and password from YOUR router.

      Hi,

Could you provide some real world feedback for the wireless performance for this router.

      Re: Swap SR102 for a D7000?

Put it this way, previously I was using two repeaters in my house, now I only need one at the other end of the house, and now I only use 5g.

Sum it up in one word, excellent.
