I have powered down the computer but not the router. I will do that tomorrow.

      Work calls, sadly.

I have also emailed the town council again and asked if they would pass my email to whoever is the admin for the webcam site.

*****Just rebooted router and still the same problem*******

Disconnecting the router from the internet (or just turning it off) in order to get a new ip address can be quite tricky on a fibre connection, apparently.

I've consistently read of 4 different time frames needed:
      1) 1hr.
      2) Overnight.
      3) 24hrs.
      4) Doesn't matter, it won't work.

I'm sure that in each case it was true for the person posting what they did...

What DNS servers are you using? I am using OpenDNS 208.67.222.222. - 208.67.220.220, try them or Google 8.8.8.8 -- 8.8.4.4.

Re: Unable to visit a web site / Have sky blocked it?

Something strange is going on. It not Sky blocking it, the site itself is functioning OK, you are not able to access it on any of your PCs. The only constant is your router. I don't suppose you have your Sky router lying around so you can plug it in and check with that? The only other thing I can think of is to back up your router settings, reset it and try again.

Just an odd thought, does your router use Bash?

If access is possible via a proxy, surely it's the ip address problem?

Re: Unable to visit a web site / Have sky blocked it?

I now know what the problem is.

The admin of the webcams have specifically blocked my ip address because they saw frequent accesses of the webcams by me and assumed I was up to no good.

They say they have now unblocked me but I still cannot access them. I assume it needs a little time for my ip address to be allowed to gain access.

      Time will tell.

I use a program (name escapes me at the moment) that allows me to see all the available webcams one at a time. That is probably what has me in their log numerous times. I have explained what I do.
