      I have read that the large fibre cabinets have 288 'slots' which is not many considering some of them cover 2 'ordinary' cabinets. Some have even less and a percentage is set aside for backup.

      I would think slots are only allocated when an order is placed. I doubt if any ISP can book slots on spec.

      Aha, so first come first served customer wise.

      Therefore technically if a cab is full, it's full for all isp's & there should never be a situation where fibre is available from one isp but not another.

      That bodes well for the op.

      My fibre cab is only a small one, yet i happen to know the normal one next to it has over 800 connections.
