      12 months and counting!

It has been one of those days today. Constantly busy since quite early this morning.

However I just too a look at it was 9.30am 12 months ago that my Fibre connection finally went live!

Two days later it was changed to SFUP and I haven't looked back since.

Like most other on here the connection speed has constant. The Latency has mostly been fine, but has struggled when the connection has been busy.

People do ask about the quality of the service. I wanted to show that it could be stable and consistent.

nice, had my connection for over 2 years now, I upgraded to SFUP last year and its been brilliant. I am not looking forward to moving in a few months as the new property (according to the BT checker) has a range of 43-60Mb down and 11-17Mb up whereas now I get the full speed on both

      Re: 12 months and counting!

Ouch! That will be hard losing the speed. I know that it is still a lot more than ASDL2+, but it could be better.

Hopefully when BTO rolls out the new software they've been testing it can be improved upon.

yeah, if the connection hits 60Mb and stays there I will keep pro but if not I will seriously consider downgrading as most of us know and feel Sky are still overcharging for their fibre products and I can't justify the extra money for only a few Mbs more

      I can understand that.

Don't forget to take the VDSL socket with you :wink. Hide it if a BTO Engineer does have to come around to the new place, but otherwise it'll be better than using the microfilters.

      Re: 12 months and counting!

I was going to. Although the current vendors at my new place have Sky Fibre and I believe they had an engineer install it so I think there is already a VDSL faceplate in place. I will still take mine however.

Just upgraded to SFUP this week and the whitebox is measuring a steady 59Mbps d/s and 17mbps u/s (in line with expectations at about 250m from cabinet). Quite decent throughput really. Happy to pay 20 for that (luckily Sky did me a deal at that price for 12 months or I was away to PlusNet, chosen on pricing & reputation) but I can't justify it at 30. Hopefully Sky will address their fibre broadband pricing sometime over the next year to undercut their main competition and go all out for top market share. (Declaring my interest here as a shareholder in my SIPP!)

There's just too much chest beating regarding speeds on here methinks!

My Internet connection is faster than yours!

I'd much rather see median or modal speeds increase in this country rather than misleading (mean) averages........
