Should the dynamic IP address change, which does happen from time to time - my previous one lasted about 4 months until the recent firmware upgrade - you will need to create a new system using the newly assigned dynamic IP address. It's quite obvious when this happens because you see from the papertrail browser window that it's stopped logging on the previous dynamic IP address!
Thanks I've got it working. Thanks for your help

Ok, but would have thought the syslogs you may want is when your router reboots and your dynamic ip changes.
Notice too that it only holds logs for 7 days on the free service, so not too good, unless you look every week.

Agreed it's not totally sophisticated but it has been quite adequate for my main need, which was to keep an eye on the router when working away in order to ensure it's up. I'm on SFUP and could have a static IP address, but I haven't bothered and my dynamic IP address hasn't changed very often really. I always know when it HAS changed because papertrail stops logging from the old dynamic IP address, so as soon as I notice I just setup a new system and away we go again. I keep a browser window open and have a quick look at it every day. So all in all it does what I need.
