Well DCoE can do remote DLM resets and can view all the 15 min snapshots of the line that DLM takes. Other than that, not much else. I think the most important thing that access is required to, is the Caution Counter information. That tells us how long we need to wait before positive changes are made to a line by DLM.

Re: Reminder about the reality of DLM on Openreach FTTC

sky have limited control over DLM in the following ways.

They can choose which profile a line starts with when ordering the service from openreach.

They can order a profile change on the openreach ordering system (as all isps can), but like other isps I guess they will claim they dont have this ability.

If a DLM profile is changed it also does a DLM reset.

As to why isp's dont exercise this ability I can only guess, possible reasons are.

1 - to simplify tech support, they dont want numbers of people asking for DLM profile changes willy nilly.
2 - It used to be a product change applied a new 12 month min term, and I believe a profile change was not excluded from this, but I think now it just applies a new 1 month min term.
3 - There is possibly a fee to the ISP attached to a profile change, again not sure on this.
