      Yes, it could be a faulty cable or a faulty switch. Obviously try a different cable, then try the different ports of the switch and see if you get the same results.

      Cracked it. Though it's one of those where I've no idea what I did differently. It just works. Hate it when technology becomes voodoo.

      Anyway, there was a bit of swapping cables and ports on both the router and switch but everything now seems to be OK.
