      Thinking of new homeplugs but...

I have two sets of fairly old Comtrend Powerline passthrough homeplugs and I am thinking of replacing them, however I'm a little bit worried that performance will not be great due to the wiring in our house.

My doubts are because the Comtrend always had a "Red" status light, which meant they were connected but only ever at around 6Mps. If I buy some new 200Mps adaptors (I think the Comtrend were up to 85Mps), am I likely to get better speeds or am I wasting my time?

I had some really old ones I replaced with some 200 mbit tplink ones. The performance increase was huge for me!

Homeplugs can be a bit hit and miss though!

Comtrends are 200Mbit/s but they use UPA rather than the Homeplug standard that's more common throughout the UK.
