New Fibre Member - Speeds Are All Over The Place

My router is connected at 40/10, but the downstream speeds seem to be fluctuating quite dramatically. It's been just over 24 hours since the installation, and the first speed tests I ran got me results between 25MB and 37MB, wired and wireless. Since then, the average has fallen to 15MB and now to 5MB. The upstream has remained unaffected. I've tried rebooting the router and changing cables/wifi channel, but no real change.

I am aware that speeds may change after the initial installation, but the extent to which they have has caused me concern.

I'd say give it another day or two and see if it settles. Sky will probably tell you to wait 10 days anyway. As other people will and have said before, try not to turn your BTO modem on and off too much as that can trigger the DLM to think there is a fault. (I think that's right, feel free to correct me)

Just leave it alone & it will settle itself. Mine was exactly the same after changing to fibre & I was making it worse by changing wireless channels & rebooting modem & router thinking there was something wrong. I made a thread here too saying much the same as you.

After I left everything alone for a few days my speeds consistently stay close to the max possible.
