Weird issue with Sky fibre and powerline adaptors
I have a strange issue with internet throughput over powerline adaptors, I have the TP-Link AV211KIT and I can't seem to get more than 11mbps through them! However if I transfer a file from one computer to another over them I can get almost 10x that speed!
Something isn't adding up here...
Any ideas?

Re: Weird issue with Sky fibre and powerline adaptors
Do you mean your download speed on fibre is only 11mbps but you can transfer over a network faster? Could you explain your setup and I will see if i can help?

Re: Weird issue with Sky fibre and powerline adaptors
Hi yes sorry. I have an 80/20 connection synced at over 70000kbps. Connected directly into the sky router I get great download and upload speeds. However through the powerline adaptors I'm struggling to see 10mbps. Now the strange thing is I can transfer files between those powerline adaptors without issues, very quick. So I have no idea why the adaptors are bottlenecking only my WAN throughput.
very strange!

Re: Weird issue with Sky fibre and powerline adaptors
I think I've sussed it, If I move the powerline adaptor that's nearest the sky router further away and run a long cable from it to the router its fine!? It seems I'm unable to use the power socket where my router/telephone line is.
Going back through my JD speedtester logs, the drop in throughput with the powerline adaptors connected on the nearest socket to the router coincides with the night I was switched to Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro. There must be some interference?

Re: Weird issue with Sky fibre and powerline adaptors
Under ideal conditions you will pull around 42 mbps from av200 homeplug's
the further away they are from each other the worse they will get

Re: Weird issue with Sky fibre and powerline adaptors
If you are competent to do so, check your electrical wiring.
I recall a member who had varying connection speeds with various spur-sockets around his home. Also poor wiring is a bad issue anyway.
Also ensure that any HomePlugs (or PowerLine Adaptors) are NOT plugged into a Surge Protected socket. This can interfere with the connection.
