Sky need to sort this error out or risk losing customers

Just got an email from sky about my interest in fibre (which I am actually on) telling me they have checked my number and I can't have fibre lol. Perhaps it's because I already am that it's messed up. Hopefully it's not going to be a common error or there'll be quite a few losses in revenue.

I just got the same email! And my install is today! I've got the modem sent out and everything! Why wouldnt they do an availability check before booking the engineer and sending out the equipment?! I know my street cabinet has been enabled for fibre so I dont know what the problem is.

I suspect many people have got the email. Has anyone got the email who has stayed on adsl?

      How very funny!

I was coming on here to post about the same email I just received!

Yet I had mine installed yesterday!

I think Sky on whole is great 95% of my experience with them has been great, but this little hiccup and the rest of the fibre farce is laughable!

Got the "Good news - you're in a fibre area" email this morning. Which is reassuring as my install date is today

I guess their database is a bit out of date, my cabinet was only enabled for orders on 30th April so I'm guessing its all still ok. <fingers crossed>

Re: Sky need to sort this error out or risk losing customers

I have just had one as well to say that i can not get fibre on my telephone number. HOWEVER if i go into my Sky account and do an availability check it states that it is available and allows me to go through the online order process. Spoke to 2 different people at Sky yesterday and got 2 different answers to the "can i, or can i not get it " Question.................. One YES and one NO
Also spoke to BT as i have had an e mail from them telling me that i can now get Infinity. Same problem, was told by one that it was not yet in my area and they did not know as to when it would be. { the cabinet was done over 3 weeks ago as i spoke to the OR Guy doing it } A later call to BT and i was told that i could have it straight away no problem !
I think that BOTH need to get their act together as there are a lot of mixed messages coming out of both suppliers at a time when they should be both be maximising their opportunities to sell FTTC to both their existing and potential new customers !!!

At first the lack of info caused a buzz about the possibilty of new products, now the lack of info and incorrect information is causing the opposite affect.

Just out of interest, has anybody got a telephone number for Sky that may end up with somebody on the other end of the phone that actually knows exactly what the score is with ordering Fibre ????
