A little birdie tells me, sky have worked out what has been happening with the speeds and are in the process of resolving it. I have even noticed today I am back in my home town , I did enjoy my virtual trip around the UK lol.

re: Sky Admits fault with Sky and BT network resulting in slow connects @ 1/2 speed
Hi All !
Just come back today from a weeks holiday. Having been a "half speeder" when i went away i hoped that i may find myself coming back to a "full speed" fibre throughput.
HOWEVER this is not he case despite a full reboot of both modem and router after now over 14 days of being on all the time {just to see if any changes had occurred in my absence } i still find that although the router still synced at 39992 /2000 as it has ALWAYS done, the through put speeds are still only 20 down unless of course tested through the BT site were as they like most others show a speed of up to about 30 down.
Has any thing meant to have happened or is going to happen to fix this and has other half speeders noticed any difference to their figures lately??
Cheers

TBH, if this was my connection I would now be emailing everyone at sky. I think you have given them reasonable time to research and resolve the issue and as long as you have done everything you can to make sure its not your equipment, I would email JD at the exec office asking what they are going to do to resolve it. Although fibre is new to Sky it is not new to BTO and it needs to escalated to them until it is resolved. I do not believe for a minute that someone at sky do not know what the issues are.

Could some of you try this alternative speed test site to see if there is any improvement:

In comparison with someone who isn't experiencing the 'half speed' issue -
Your link from us appears to be about 38.831084Mb/s for IP transfer. ATM/sync rate will be higher for broadband.

I am beginning to wonder if this problem is contagious and is spreading to ADSL. These are the results of tests I have run in the last few minutes,

At the moment I am syncing at 8.5Mbps.
