Ok I've flashed the router with the Merlin Firmware and inputted my Sky username and password. Wireless is working fine but wired seems a bit sluggish. In the box for Special Requirements from ISP do I need to put something in the MAC Address box because at the minute it's empty?

      Thanks in advance.

Not if you have a broadband connection up, which it appears you do.

When you say sluggish what to you mean, Do an OOKLA speed test and update your signature so we can see what you are getting with the new combo.

Hi Guys, I'm struggling with my setup and could use some help it's beyond my realms!

I'm also trying to replace the SR102 and use an Openreach (V-2FUv/r) out of the box with microfilter to connect to my Netgear Nighthawk R7000 flashed with DD WRT via WAN.

I've extracted the Sky details from wireshark and tried both startup commands separately and can't get access or a WAN IP...Am I missing something?
      Commands tried:killall udhcpc
      udhcpc -i vlan2 -x 0x3d:XXXXX -p /var/run/udhcpc.pid -s /tmp/udhcpc &

      killall udhcpc
      /usr/sbin/udhcpc -i vlan2 -V "1.15h.2138.R|PCBAFAST2504Nv1.0" -c “XXXX" -p /var/run/udhcpc.pid -s /tmp/udhcpc &

      Hi aj09
I'm suffering from exactly the same problem you've listed her.
Did you manage to find a solution? Any help would be gratefully received, thanks

Re: Fibre and 3rd Party Router - working fine

      Hello,

I am moving to sky broadband on Wednesday my SR102 has arrived and was looking for some help please.

I currently have BT infinity and my intention was to continue using the BT modem with my existing router which is a DLink DIR-815

DD-WRT is not available for my router so I was wondering if anyone could tell me if my router is suitable for sky fibre or what I need to look for in the settings to check if it is compatible?

If it is compatible could anyone please point me to any guides/tutorials to enter the correct settings.

      Many Thanks

Re: Fibre and 3rd Party Router - working fine

If you intend to use your own router on and of Sky's current Fibre services, you must be able to enter the login details via "Opt.#61".

If your router has the facility to do this then there should be no problem. If not, then it can't be done.

There are a few routes to doing this:

      1. Propriety firmware supplied with the router
      2. Updated propriety firmware available from manufacturer's website
      3. Custom firmware (i.e. Tomato, DD-WRT, OpenWRT)
      4. via Telnet

There are plenty of threads on the first three options for various routers on these forums (I haven't seen the D-Link 815 specifically mentioned). The Telnet router requires a lot more knowledge, including the ability to save the settings.

      The alternative options include:

      • Using the SR102 effectively as a Modem using this guide: Using the DLink DIR613.
      • Purchasing a new router and selling the D-Link 815 on to someone else

It has been asked for Sky to add a "Modem only" mode for the SR102 but this still has not happened. This would resolve issues like yours overnight.
