      Angry 24 Hour turn around...

I just talked to someone at Sky to again chase on SFUB. He mentioned that Sky are calling people back within 24 hours of registration. Has anyone else heard this?

It doesn't match my experience as I've registered twice before with no response. First time was over a year ago! Anyhow, I just tried again, so hopefully third time lucky. We'll see...

My advice would be not to trust anything until its on general release or on their website.. I think the information you get off agents really depends who you get on the phone rather than what they are told or read.

Yeh. It's all hit n miss at the moment. However, I'm pretty sure they will be planning to call all those that have pre-registered before the launch on the 12th.

Having an un-official soft launch (pre-12th) is the easiest way to make the initial demand on launch more manageable. Otherwise, there would be bad publicity if there were too many orders for the BTO engineers on the launch and therefore long lead times.

I dont think the current fibre team would be big enough to call everyone back at the moment, I do agree though that those who pre-registered should be contacted first maybe by an email invite. Thats said the pre-registration was only for "the limited number of people" who may want more than the standard broadband to be kept upto date im not convinced that it will put people to the front of the line. But heres hoping lol

I would imagine the Fibre Team, however it's structured, is growing by the week as more staff become proficient in the ordering / tech support process.

We're moving ever closer to launch and with the number of connections growing on a daily basis, you can bet your bottom dollar it's not just Jack and Jill in the office anymore, working their way through a list of 'trialists'.

24 hours? pffft, I doubt that. I waited 2 weeks.

      Re: 24 Hour turn around...

Post on this forum have suggested that perhaps Sky's Fibre team have been looking to connect one or two people to each exchange that can support SBUF.

If someone else has already been connected in your exchange, then you will have to wait like everyone else until 12th April.

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

      Re: 24 Hour turn around...

It's such a shame that Sky can't be bothered to even send a blanket email to those that pre-registered. People that specifically wanted to know about FTTC availability.

Considering the public info that's available (pricing / launch date), you would think it wouldn't take much to share this - with those that registered - rather than forcing people to go and find the info for themselves from forums like this.

      Re: 24 Hour turn around...

Who is to say that they won't when we get closer to 12th April or on the day?

Admittedly they love to advertise their TV programme line-up months in advance. Other than the announcement at the end of January, there hasn't been any official word from Sky since.

Anyone who has been following the discussions on forums like this will be aware that Fibre is coming to Sky soon.

Ah - That may well explain why I've not got a call. My exchange has been live since December...

However, I've been blagging the Sky Chat thing and one guy told me that they are ringing everyone back one by one...

      Re: 24 Hour turn around...

They're certainly not doing it in order of people registering: I registered my interest with them about 2 years ago within a couple of hours of the registration site going live, yet someone on my exchange who registered recently has already had the call! I've since re-registered last month, yet still nowt!
