Re: Poll: Your sky experience
For me I have gone for
Connecteed and never had any problems,
Connected by router was delayed - only two days but it felt like a 1000 without any net access.

Re: Poll: Your sky experience
Funny. No other ISP's forums mentions TIE Pairs. In fact I learned the term only after trying to join sky! Its kinda eerie scoop and term they have come up with. Many ISPs I have dealt with who have exchange problems, but NO ONE ever mentioned TIE Pairs ! MAybe SKy has pulled this term out of a hat
The other thought crossing my mind is a CONSPIRACY THEORY BY THE MURDOCH EMPIRE TO DOMINATE THE WORLD.
Just think: They have hard wired the modem/router to their own domain and servers, making them incompatible with many portals. No wonder they are always having exchange problems with BT. Even the Tie Pairs (which i guess are generic products, but the Murdochs want their own version raising compatibility issues).
All this so that when anyone wants to move/migrate, incompatibility issues make it ever more difficult to migrate and new providers (after sky) will have exchange problems to revert to BT standard equipment. Just read the horror stories of those who want to simply cancel!
Reminds me of an interesting Limmerick, but later !

Re: Poll: Your sky experience
Please remember that this poll will be biased. You're unlikely to get many "Connected, Never any problems" on what is essentially a forum for people who have connection problems.

Well, you may notice Its actually also featured on the main home page. But i deliberatly put it in the Feedback section rather than the specific happy / unhappy sub boards for this reason. I don't think it will be as biased as you might think. Most voters already are no problemers

Re: Poll: Your sky experience
Funny thought crossed my mind. What chances that SKY people (Murdoch empire) will use thses stats to trumpet their ineptitude/cause and belittle the poor sufferers !

Whilst we welcome unhappy comments, as long as they are constructive of course, our primary aim of this site is to help people, who need help and support.
Between all our members I feel we have a good mix of happy, unhappy and none Sky Customers. If it was anything else it would not work.
We do not want this to be purely a problems forum, otherwise we would have called it something to do with problems.
Don't get me wrong, feedback good and bad is needed to balance out a forum, and I am sure it is beneficial to any supplier of any service. If they do not know where they are going wrong, how can they correct?

Heh, I know what you're saying, but the site's tag line is "The unofficial support forum for everything Sky!". If people are coming here for support then it kind of implies they have a problem that they need fixing or advice about.
I'm not forgetting that there are going to be people here who are here to give that support, however I think they make up the minority of registered users though they are maybe the majority of regular users.
My point is, whatever the outcome of this poll, it shouldn't be considered accurate and the results banded around as a true opinion of all Sky subscribers. If you want to do that then you need to randomly select a large number of Sky's customers and ask them unleading questions.
It's all about the integrity of the results.
