you need to randomly select a large (representative) number of Sky's customers..."

Market Research experts always warn about "Self Selecting" samples.
Nonetheless, I love these snap shots. Interesting and Fun.
I also love my Sky Broadband Max.FRB.

Re: Poll: Your sky experience
Sam, i have a conspiracy theory for you. I was with BT with no problems at all, but left due to cheaper prices with Virgin. My internet connection immediately went down the toilet. Virgin claimed to be having problems with BT wholesale. I am a sad online games addict so went back to BT for a stable connection. First day back with BT my connection was rock solid. I wonder if BT sabotage your connection if you leave them. I have left them for Sky now and am again suffering a few connection problems.
If the Murdoch empire is strong enough to stand up to BT to ensure Sky customers get the internet they want and at a drastically lower price, then all hail the mighty Murdoch i say, just sort your damn email server out will you!!

Re: Poll: Your sky experience
I tend to agree with you. Wouldnt put it past BT to be so awkward. Its known as the Monster Telco (By the register). They are the reluctant ones to be dragged into LLU and all that and they have brought in this silly and unworkable migration code thing, Tie pairs is a new thing Ive heard, suspect ordering system from different ISPs being one more etc etc. Surely BT are no saints!
But if Murdoch Empire is mighty enough to have decided to take them on in the Broadband market, why the hell dont they publicise in their Media Frenzy BTs ineptitude and dirty tricks and REALLY provide good quality affordable BB ? Sky's ineptitude/Lethargy doesnt absolve them just Bcos BT is the Bad Boy around. After all they can everyday afford to publicise one more bad story about BT dirty tricks on SKY News! This will realy make the BB war interesting, instead of sniping from the sidelines.
Probably, the lesser of the evils is what you mean.

Re: Poll: Your sky experience
Sky absolutely abysmal, makes AOL look like market leaders with growing reputation. If I am lucky I will get online for at least five minutes before having to reboot the pc\router. Got it Friday cancelled Monday now I will have to wait for months to get SKY off my line absolute mistake, absolute crap ISP

I'm not forgetting that there are going to be people here who are here to give that support, however I think they make up the minority of registered users though they are maybe the majority of regular users.
My point is, whatever the outcome of this poll, it shouldn't be considered accurate and the results banded around as a true opinion of all Sky subscribers. If you want to do that then you need to randomly select a large number of Sky's customers and ask them unleading questions.
It's all about the integrity of the results.

To be fair I have run a focus group of all the people I know who have connected to sky including the non self selecters and everyone has had a rubbish joining experience and is suffering from pathetic slower than dialup speeds in the evening. The question is should I buy out my contract or just cancel my entre subscription (to think 3 years ago I was recommending them with sky+ - how bad do I feel now I hope my friends will still speak to me!)

Is the way you select your focus group sample
a new form of Market Research?
Even this poll cannot be considered representative.
But just look at the results in all categories.
Then compare it to your conclusions.
