Unusable Sky Broadband for the past 24 hours

      Hi,
Has anyone else experienced problems with Sky Broadband since last night ? Ours keeps dropping out every few minutes. Basically its unusable. Sky support were useless and they might have an engineer available in 72 hours!!

We've decided to shelve sky because of this and begun a switch over to BT, as we run a business from home, and we need a better response time than 72 hours!

We live in the Newton-le-Willows area (Merseyside/Greater Manchester border)

      Hi

Unless you are taking a business line with BT then it is unlikely you will get a different timeframe from any provider other than Virgin. All main ISP's other than Virgin rely on Openreach for engineer visits so they all work to the same timescales.

3 days is also just an estimate on an engineer attending to where ever the fault is, it is not guaranteed that the fault will be fixed at that time.

There could be many reasons why the work could take longer that 3 days but on the flip side it is not unknown for an engineer to attend the next day and for the fault to be fixed there and then.

Sky broadband is aimed at residential rather than business users and has a price point and service level agreement to match.
