Re: slow speeds
Could you connect just the router to your Test Socket, with a microfilter. Check that all other telephone extensions are dead and post your stats from the test socket please.

Re: slow speeds
Using just a corded telephone, could you plug it into the Test socket, dial '1' and listen for any noise?
Ideally it should be fairly quite. If there is any noise like a high-pitched fax machine, that will be fine. If however there is a loud hiss or crackling, then you should call your call provider (this would be Sky if you pay them for your line rental).

Re: slow speeds
i have done that and it is fairly quit, is there any chance that sky have put a cap on the line because there was a fault just fixed in the line and what is the max speed download speed i will get i know it wont be that fast because of the line attenuation

Re: slow speeds
DLM may have kicked in because of the line fault. Perhaps a different microfilter could be used? They tend to last around two years. Filtered faceplates a bit longer.
You have a very long line and are only just within the minimum usable speed for an ADSL line.
It may be worth calling Sky to seen if they can try "G.DMT" for you. Alternatively let them get DLM to re-profile your line.

Re: slow speeds
ADSL (aka G.DMT) uses a smaller signal bandwidth than ADSL2+. When on a long ling it can prove to be better for speeds.
