      Sky Fibre Optic Trial

Has anyone actually got on this trial yet ? Registered ages ago, my exchange is live and I can have BT Infinity installed as soon as I want.
I want to stay with Sky but they seem to have not done anything other than put up a web page to register interest.
I have phoned Sky BB about it but the trial seems to have disappeared, no one there has any knowledge of it.

Hi I don`t know if you have seen this but it is the lasted info Optic Fibre "BT Infinity" information other than Sky will be looking to run trials of fibre-optic broadband
Thanks, yes I've seen that. I was speaking to Sky BB last week, thats when no-one at Sky seemed to know anything about it.
It is frustrating because I can change to BT but I would rather stay with Sky if they can come up with any info.
Patience is a virtue I suppose

      Re: Sky Fibre Optic Trial

Just been talking to sky bb cs and the bloke stated that the web page that we have been registering to be on the trial is fake, because all sky pages have "sky.com/" in them.
So looks like its going to be a BT change ....unless other info is forthcoming.

Is there anyone reading these forums who works for sky and actually knows what is really happening ???

      Re: Sky Fibre Optic Trial

Even if BT do enable fibre optics in my area i'll be sticking with SKY at least they dont traffic shape or have a limit on an "unlimited" connection. I had enough of BT's ridiculous traffic shaping and usage limits last time I used them

      Re: Sky Fibre Optic Trial

I'm a little concerned that the website many of us signed up to is apparently a fake - is this indeed the case? Should I be worried? I can't remember what details I put in there now ...

      If your worried look here:
      SKY Fibre Optic Trial Whois
Shows the domain clearly registered to bskyb, you know I do sometimes wonder about what kind of idiots they employ in the call centres who spout useless and wrong information
