Broadband Usage

Currently on sky b/band mid( 10gb allowance), i never went over previous allowance of 40gb, but last month Nov. i used over 12gb (sons gaming, general browsing of internet, and daughter d/load music), i have 2 questions;
1. i pay sky for my line rental as well as my phone bills, so can i change my b/band provider, without incurring a penalty.
2. why have sky reduced the usage allownace from 40gb to 10gb.

Hope someone can help

Re: Broadband Usage

1 - Yes you can if you are not already on the new SVBN network which is all Sky's equipment, otherwise you may be forced to pay BT to re-connect you again and also loose you phone number. You may get a discount from BT to re-cnnect but you will have to ring to see.

2 - They said that most customers did not use the 40gb so they reduced it!!! seems a load of p00 to me, if it wasn't being used why bother with all the upset to reduce it?

Re: Broadband Usage

Dial 17070 and listen to the message, once your line number has been read out, if it then goes on to say "BT Line test facilities" you're still on the BT network, if not then you're on the SVBN.
