on Sky, what happened because your not gettting double that now, just an extra meg? Did your connection get capped?
|
as you know m8,i was happy on sky then it all went **** up,i got capped and ended up with 2.3 down, then it was pointed out that my upload was set at the max setting(768) as opposed to the 400 it should of been on mid.
so as soon as dlm had got hold of my line it would of gone down.
on speedtests, the speeds im actually getting have doubled, ping 19-20ms which suits me.

Re: Mid users, who's leaving because of the new limit
how can you kick off at Sky if they reduced your upstream in line with the package you're on??
fair enough the other reasons,though...

im not,i wasnt happy with the usage cap and i never noticed the upload until you pointed it out,it was cst who sorted it out for me and ive always said i think they are 100%,even more so when i realised the favour he had done for me for my gaming.
i wasnt kicking off,i was gutted that dlm would make it worse for me.

Re: Mid users, who's leaving because of the new limit
I've just been migrated to O2 and like to say thanks Sky
With a line attenuation of 58db I was connected at 4096kbs on Sky and would have been happy with that with O2.
My wireless box tells me I'm connected at 5099kbs, my ping times to bbc have dropped from 46ms to 21ms.
My speed tests reflect the increased connection speed and are still faster than what my sky router connected at
I've got to thank the NR, Saturday and the posters on here though, because without those tutorials on faceplates, filters, internal wiring etc theres no way I'd have got anywhere near these speeds on either Sky or O2.

Re: Mid users, who's leaving because of the new limit
Im not within a contract period with Sky, but have 2 months left with BT (I had to switch "back" to BT in order to go between PIPEX and Sky.. what a mess, leaving me stuck with BT for anotehr 12 months).
Anyway. Unless the 40Gb remains, I will *not* stand ANY company cutting my service by 75%. TalkTalk have enabled in my exchange, and I can get the same service, including international and free 0845/0870 calls for the same price. Why would I stay with Sky??

If you think Sky are bad, wait until you go on Talk Talk
Do you have O2 or Be on your exchange?

Re: Mid users, who's leaving because of the new limit
I was looking around at other providers too, but as we have Sky Talk and can't really complain at the service we've had (well apart from this new bandwidth choking!) the price even after the upgrade to Unlimited is still pretty good IMHO.

I totally agree with that.
I don't want to leave Sky. But if they start giving me grief for going over my 10GB allowance from August when the most i have ever downloaded in a month is 20GB during the last 2 years, i will look elsewhere.
