Bye Bye Sky

:-D I've left Sky Broadband.

I moved to Sky LLU because they offered cheap broadband and at the time were the only adsl2+ provider in my area. However things soon went pear shaped.

Initially I got a 16mbps connection, but sky almost imediately turned off the adsl2+ and I was on gdmt. I called tech support and was told my line wouldn't take 2+, despite the fact it had been working fine. I convinced them to turn it back on but they changed my profile so I could only sync at 13mbps. Which was fine. Then one day I was back to gdmt only. I have spent hours on the phone trying to convince Sky to give me 2+ but they insist my line won't take it. Recently however things have been getting bad and my connection particularly on the upload had become unusable. I decided Sky had pushed me to far so I have moved to Be*. Guess what I plugged my router in and what do I get 19mbps down 1.2mbps up. All working fine. hmmmm but I thought my line couldn't handle 2+. Sky are a joke.

Also when I tried to move they gave me a MAC number and then told me I would need to give a months notice and then it would be 10 days before the tag would be removed from my line (40 days). I asked them what the MAC number was for and was told by the lady she knows what MAC numbers are for and it would take 40 days. Well in under 10 I'm on Be. Someone should point her to the Sky website page which covers MAC numbers.

bye bye people.

To be fair, the OP stated that he had 16Mb, that dropped to 13Mb and that was "fine", not sure why you make a sarcastic comment about this not being enough when he clearly stated in his post that it was.

It seems to me that the reason he was unhappy and left was because he was told that he could no longer get ADSL2+ and was dropped to an even lower speed, now he is on Be and he is surpassing even the highest speed he got with Sky, seems very clear to me that someone in Sky dropped the ball and lost a customer, wouldn't you agree

Wasn;t you was it

Re: Bye Bye Sky

Judging by their attitude...I would't be at all surprised! 'IAmNotTheEnemy'? maybe not ...but maybe need to read 'How to win friends and influence people'!

Re: Bye Bye Sky

I think IANTE was responding to the comment made by The Whizz (who may not have read the OP's full quote)

am i the only one to notice this or is it just from previous impressions that some have "jumped" onto IANTE's post and no comments about the Whizz have been made ?

the above is just an obsevation

Re: Bye Bye Sky

personally i dont think sky is fantastic but i am fed up with people not being happy with what is clearly a very good speed to have i mean i'd love to have 13mb or even 8mb....stop complaining you get what you pay for right?

its not like sky are giving you a 2mb connection is it?
