sky always configure the speed to 16384kbps but the connection never trains in at the configured speed because adsl2+ is very unstable.

Erm - no. The difference in training can probably be accounted for by the effect of interleaving (have you not noticed the increase in sync when interleave delay/depth is lowered?) and certainly has nothing to do with ADSL2+ stability.

I am afraid so i have never seen a line train in to the configured speed on adsl2+ no matter what is changed.

To get it to train at the configured speed you'd need to set it as FAST - have you ever done that?

Potentially even then it may not train exactly to that speed (I don't know how the network is set up) but it will be close. To confirm my original point, the difference will be (mostly) down to the effect of interleaving and not in any way down to ADSL2+ being "very unstable" as you suggest.

The reason it can be very unstable is because the bandwidth is not secure on adsl2+ because if there is not enough bandwidth for one person then what adsl2+ does is goes and steals it from another person that is a reason that it could be unstable.

Re: Well done Sky !!!!! I'm Connected at 16MB

The association for line speed is discrete between the Router and the DSLAM. There is no stealing of bandwidth from other users. You may be thinking of the backhaul from the DSLAM to the ISP, that will be of a fixed speed and the use of it is entirely statistical across all of the devices and users attached. But there is no way you could "steal" bandwidth from my pair of wires or vice versa. That simply not possible.

      Jonny - that's just nonsense.
