      Update on Highway Exchange

The cable problems at this exchange appear to have now been resolved. If you are still having any issues with this exchange, can you please call Support.

If you raise this issue with support, this should then result in normal troubleshooting being followed and faults raised with bt which should hopefully result in faults going back to bt to be investigated.

      Thanks NewsreadeR,

but do Sky know that the 'cabling problem' has been fixed ? As of yesterday they were still telling me that there was a fault at the exchange. So, how can I get past that past of the conversation ?

      anyway, thanks again.

Just checked my exchnage from the link in the first post and it is reporting this:

BT is reporting that some of the virtual paths at this exchange are not operating within BT Wholesale's planning guidance, although they are still operating within the product specification.

At busy times, your ADSL connection may operate at a reduced speed, although not all customers on your exchange may be affected. You should only contact support if there is no current ETA date set.

The ETA fix time is: 27 Oct 06
Lets see what if anything happens next Friday

      Hi Alan,

FWIW, I don't know whether that link has any significance for Sky users.

What I mean is, is it only relevant to plusnet and/or BT broadband customers, or any non-LLU customers, or all customers at the exchange, irrespective of ISP...? I would like to think it has, but :

      Dear Newsreader

Sky still saying today that the DSLAM problem needs sorting and it will involve BT and easynet engineers. They don't seem to want to escalate the problem to tier 3. They are only dealing with active connections that are nort working properly. What do I say to someone who just tells me there is still this cabling problem.

It will only be relevant to people on bt wholesale provided ADSL connections, LLU providers have their own backhauls (usually 100Mb or 1Gb BES circuits) so are not reliant on BT's VP capacity.

      highway exchange coventry

It now seems highway is not listed as having cabling problems at sky, so soemone took me through some troubleshooting including rebooting the router. This has now been escalated and they will run line tests over the next 24 hours. I have to keep all broadband etx. disconnected. wwhen they have found the problem this will need to go back to BT/easynet.
