Re: ISPs tussle over broadband access
I think you drifted away a little there but never the less it was an interesting point of view. At the end of the day I think the govt itself is to blame for not reaching formal agreements when investing in projects like these. Instead of expecting good gestures from companies they should be legally obligated if they want public funds for their projects.
On a seperate note if Virgin fcked over local councils, they for one have nothing to moan about. Agreed

Re: ISPs tussle over broadband access
There are many areas where Virgin own the writes to cable up the local houses and have not done so. I do not just mean cul-de-sacs where they have not bothered going into, but also whole towns which have been left in a void.
They are also not the only major company to ignore any agreements made with a local council.
A certain company, which announced rather large pre-tax profits today, is guilty of several offences where they have ignored local planning restrictions or even specific agreements with councils.
As has already been mentioned, for all the companies, if they cannot play fair with others, then they should not complain when they are denied access to another company's hardware.
