      Accessing FAP/broadband usage info

      Hi - I have recently had my broadband upgraded BY SKY, as they say my usage has gone beyond my allowance, even though I am a relatively light user and it has not changed in the last 4 years.

      Does anyone know if I can access my FAP information for the past 12 months - not surprisingly, as soon as I was upgraded it seems this info is no longer available.

      Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

      Guessing that you were upgraded from everyday lite to unlimited.

      If you call sky we can check what your usage has been over about a year.

      There may be a usage tool in the my sky portal but not 100% sure.

      IHSA is right to state that there is a usage tool.

      Unfortunately if you have been upgraded to Sky BB Unlimited, then this tool will no longer be available to you.

      Perhaps it might help us to work out your usage if you could post what type of things you do.

      Examples include:

      * email
      * general browsing
      * downloading documents
      * Sky Anytime+
      * Youtube
      * BBC iPlayer, ITV Player, 4oD, Five Player, Sky Player & others like these
      * internet chat
      * VOIP (e.g. Skype Video or voice calls)
      * Torrents
      * Internet radio
      * anything else

      Also is there anyone else who may be sharing your Internet connection?

      We have a usage tool in our main system which i don't think resets.

      Might be a good idea to give sky a call and ask them to check on your usage it can be done through their main system and goes back a few months.

      Wouldn't be that hard to go over 2Gb a month

      Thanks for reply.

      Usage is fairly limited - just email and 'normal' sites...mainly html sites, very rarely use iplayer never use skyplayer as always has a fault (which is fairly annoying to say the least - when one gets auto upgraded). No torrent, no voip, no internet radio, limited youtube, no other users (as wired)...so no idea why sudden usage hike.

      A couple of BBC iPlayer programmes in one day could put you over the daily limit quite easily, especially if they were HD quality.

      Unfortunately Sky BB Lite is often measured in this manner from what I've seen posted elsewhere.

      It does seem a little harsh though from what you are posting.

      Think standard def youtube videos have a max size of 100MB, not too sure when it comes to HD though. but 20 SD videos would nearly push you above your FUP.
