This is what is being Beta tested at the moment, although we don't have access to the new players just yet.

The release date is aimed for the Autumn.

Now is a good time to make sure that your broadband connection doesn't have limits if you have a Sky+ HD STB.

"HD Pack required for HD content" - presumably not so for BBC iPlayer and ITV Player HD content though?

Re: Register now for Catch Up TV

I would imagine that both BBC HD and ITV HD content would be available to non-HD subscribers. However I don't have confirmation of this or even if it would be available to HD subscribers. Admittedly this would be silly as I can get BBC HD iPlayer content on my TV, HT and Laptop.

To be quite honest, I have been disappointed with the ITV Player content to date on the Anytime+ service and rarely check it anymore as it is all SD and none of their more recent shows that I do watch.

Perhaps tomorrow's full year results announcement from BSkyB will include some exciting product news?!

Re: Register now for Catch Up TV

It does appear that Sky will be re-branding the area we currently know as "Anytime+" to "On Demand". This is to take into account the fact that BBC iPlayer and ITV Player will be added to the planner.

From the image on the Sky website it is possible to see that you will be able to select either player's content separately. Whether they are integrated in other areas I don't know at present.

So does this mean, for example, that selecting the 'Sport' genre would show both Sky, BBC and ITV sport content? I would hope so, but don't know.

Also, knowing that when you currently watch ITV Player with your web browser, the adverts are forced to be played, I don't know if this will be the case when it is taken on fully.

Demand 5 will be on the free-to-air catch-up service to launch in the autumn, according to BSkyB full year results announcement today.
