Is it possible to go back to ordinary Anytime

My father-in-law has the full Sky HD package.

When Anytime+ first came out he was miffed that it only worked with Sky Broadband which he didn't have.

Then when Sky relaxed this rule he asked for my help to get Anytime+ up and running as he doesn't really understand the technology. I setup an internet connection using 500Mbps homeplugs - they work fine and he gets a full 20Mbps internet at his Sky box.

Anytime+ works very well as designed but there is a major problem.

He is hard of hearing and whereas Anytime programmes had subtitles, Anytime+ don't.

Frankly, I shocked by this and I am sure that it will be sorted out in time.

But in the meantime, Anytime+ is useless to him, and rather than having access to the reasonable selection that Anytime offered he has nothing.

Is it possible to revert back to standard Anytime. If I disconnect the internet disable the connection in the Settings will Anytime return?

I know it would be easy to try but I live abiut 270 miles away and will have to give instructions to him over the phone or in an eMail and it would be good to know that it is going to work before trying.

      Cheers,

      Nigel

The old Anytime is still there. Now it's called Showcase. Just ignore the rest.

Many thanks for the quick reply.

I'll get him to have a look at that.

Just unplug the ethernet cable. The Anytime+ options will just disappear and it will just show Anytime in the way it always did before. There is less chance of your FIL selecting a non Showcase program and getting annoyed at you for messing his TV up.

Before unplugging the Ethernet cable, there are additional things in the pipeline.

Sky announced that BBC iPlayer would be added to the Anytime+ section. I have no information about subtitles though.

Could I suggest that you or he send an email to Sky to ask them to start adding Subtitles to the Anytime+ content as it is currently excluding a significant amount of people who have hearing issues.
