Trouble is not sure how much I would use it anyway. Only so many hours in the day!
Thanks all the same for your reply.

      Re: How to get Anytime+

      Hi,
I just had Sky+HD with HD multiroom (non +) installed this morning but I cannot get Anytime on the multiroom box, it says it's not available. It's working fine on the main box.
I checked and double checked on the website that the box is Anytime+ capable and the attached piucture confirms this.
Now I do understand that as the Multiroom HD box had no Hard drive that program storage is possible but I assumed that streamed content would be, or the daughter box can play programs stored on the mother box.

      Any advice appreciated..

i sympathise yorkie, because that's a rather misleading table.
as there's no actual streaming with sky & everything is downloaded to, then played back from the hard drive, it means there's no anytime on a non + box

edit: clicking 'show' on the last faq at the bottom of this sky.com page reveals no mention of non + boxes
Add more boxes and Sky Multiroom - Watch your Sky TV in another room - Upgrade online

edit #2: there was a rumour a while back regarding sky's intention to introduce a 'shared planner' feature, whereby you could stream content from a + box to other boxes on the same network around the home. i think it's still only at the rumour stage though

      Re: How to get Anytime+

Sky are indeed working on the ability to allow the SkyHD STB to access the contents of the Sky+ HD STB. It isn't live yet.

The new EPG being rolled out from this week is a step towards a variety of changes coming to the Sky+ HD STB and this is one of the features being developed.

What I can't say is whether it will be included in the Autumn or nearer Christmas when another update is planned.

If you want to consider it, there are other options available to you. You could look on somewhere such as eBay for a 2nd hand STB (avoid the Thomson model) or perhaps a different STB specifically for streaming on-line content.

A little while ago I was looking at the D-Link Boxee with someone. It looks quite good. You have access to all the main free players in the UK and lots more.

How are you looking to integrate this into your connection at home?

Looking at the Tenda website I have found the manuals for this device.

      W311R+ 150Mbps Wireless N Router

It is actually a Cable router and could be configured to work as an Access Point (AP). I could not see from the manual how you might configure this to connect to the Sky router via WiFi. This means that you would have to connect it via an Ethernet cable or a pair of HomePlugs to the Sky router.

I haven't looked at the DD-WRT firmware to know if this would allow you to connect it via WiFi to the Sky router. Since you are new this may be beyond your current experience.

It would work, but without knowing what you are looking to do I can't say that it will be the right option for yourself.

So back to my first question, how are you looking to connect things to the Sky router?

      Re: How to get Anytime+

Sky has renamed this service to "On Demand". Rather than update this thread, please refer to the new thread in the On Demand section: How to get On Demand

      Thank you.
