      Unhappy Frequent picture breakup when playing back Anytime+

      We've found that when playing back anytime+ recordings that we often get picture/sound break up several times during playback.

      It will often pause and stutter for several seconds mid programme. Rewinding a bit when this is happening and then playing again, everything works fine, and you can replay the same section and it is OK, so it is not recorded with the break-up - just something going wrong during playback. Often the programme has fully downloaded, so it's not just getting to the end of the available data.

      Anyone else getting this or know any solutions?

      Hi seajays,

      Is this an issue which has been ongoing for you, or has it recently appeared? You could try a 'planner rebuild' procedure to resolve this.

      I have the same issue, I downloaded the entire S5 of Weeds and I get this sort of break up, I also had a tick tick in one episode.

      This is with a new installation (1 week) so I cannot see what a planner rebuild will achieve?

      A planner rebuild can fix any errors that may be present on your hard drive. Give it a try as you have nothing to lose.

      I have rebuilt, however I do not expect to have to do this on a few day old box, nor for a long time just because I use anytime.

      I would also replace "any" with "most"

      I'l let you know if the issue continues.

      The answer is no, the rebuild has made no difference.

      Could you post up the software version that you have please?

      Also, just in case, could you confirm which STB you have?

      The STB model is on the back. If you have the latest one the ports will have colour bands around them. The HDMI port is purple, for example.

      This information could help identify a trend.

      Another one which needs to force an update (someone has the same version a couple of days ago). The updates should be automatic, but it seems that yours hasn't updated yet.

      I have the same STB (without the coloured ports). The version I have is R003.047.28.00P/47.0.16.1

      Power off the STB at the mains, the press and hold the Backup button on top of the STB, not the button on the remote control.

      Reconnect the mains power and continue to hold down the Backup button until the front panel LEDs start flashing.

      The firmware update should take between 10-15 minutes. Once it has completed, press the <Sky> button on the remote control to turn the STB back on.

      Do not power off the STB whilst the update is happening.

      Hi Scubbie,

      Is R003.047.28.00P available via the software download?

      I've got it on one of my DRX-890C, but that was because I volunteered that box for a trial last year.

      My other DRX-890C is still on R003.047.25.00P, which I thought was still the latest version available via the software download.

      Unfortunately I'm away from home at present so I can't force a software download to check.
