Re: Free Wireless Connector
I certainly wouldn't do that to you Tom.
As you are probably aware, I got myself a new TV earlier this year.
Whilst looking around and saving for it, I watched the prices for it continuously drop. Even now you can get it for considerably more than I paid, but you can also get it for considerably less too.
Last Wednesday I was with a friend in Makros. They had a promo for the 3D version of my TV for about the same price I paid for my 2D version.
Ok I was a little annoyed, but to be fair I have had several months of enjoyment watching the one I have.
It has always been the case with technology that prices drop & features increase. I recall purchasing a 6GB Hard Drive in '98 for around £200. Now I'd expect three 2TB drives and some change for that price.

Re: Free Wireless Connector
Actually I upgraded to Sky Movies (1+2) the day before yesterday with the intention of getting the free wireless connector so I should qualify for this offer.
But apparently the system doesn't care and according to a CS rep at Sky 'the system dictates'.

Re: Free Wireless Connector
I rang them and told them I wasn't happy that they were giving the wireless router away free to customers who upgraded to movies when I had been with them 11 years. Luckily, they gave me the bridge free!

Re: Free Wireless Connector
Just a shame you have to have Sky Broadband to get Anytime+

Re: Free Wireless Connector
Whilst this thread is just over 6 months old now, I would agree with you, and so would maqy others.
Sky's excuse has been to say that it is for security reasons.
I can only guess that they want to:
- be 100% sure that the STB is in the UK (many STBs are used by ex-pats in Europe)
- continue to exclude all their Eire customers from this service
- get more sales in the UK for their own LLU services (you can't get Anytime+ on Sky BB connect either)
...or am i just being provocative with some of those comments?

Re: Free Wireless Connector
I fulfil all the criteria (Got all Movie channels, Unlimited Broadband etc) but as I already have signed up for Anytime+ I am not entitled to a free adaptor.
Basically, I'm being penalised for being an early adopter.

Re: Free Wireless Connector
Another annoyed customer here the stupid thing is early users like us will actually use the connectors where as most people will just see it as free gift and then not fit it to box,put in a drawer or hopefully put them on Ebay at low prices so people like myself and other loyal customers can get one.

I really can not understand why if a current anytime + customer rings to ask for one why they can not send them one

Re: Free Wireless Connector
