It might. Your easiest way is just to untick the Access list in your router, your wireless adapter will connect. Get the details you need and re-enable the Access list. In most routers when you enable an access list all the wireless devices connected at that time will be shown on the list and you just have to select them to put them permanently on the list.

To be honest, if you have not already bought the wireless adapter and you can't use an ethernet cable, go for Homeplugs. They are faster and more stable than any wireless.
