The current TV tech is the same as the tech used in the 1930's and 1950's, except that they're using a TV to generate the pictures, rather than a cinema projector. I think hologram projection is a way off yet :-)

Re: Anyone have a 3D TV?

Just purchased a 3D tv this weekend, went for an LED but Currys had offer on samsung LED 3D tv. Worked out around same price as LED, with free blu-ray player and 2 pairs of active shutter glasses. 649
Whether it gives us headaches, remains to be seen, I will report back

Re: Anyone have a 3D TV?

Recently bought a LG 3D 47" LED passive set and it is brilliant. The 3D is superb - wild life programmes, documentaries etc are fantastic in 3D. I don't have any problems - I don't understand why some people say they get headaches. 3D without glasses, and at affordable prices, is many years away. My advice is don't wait - you won't regret it!
