I got to say I didn't like the idea of 3D tv and thought it was a big con tbh.
I then went to my Aunties and boy I was wrong.
She stuck on Monsters VS Aliens and thought it was brilliant.
      I WANT ONE!

She now has Sky3D so looking forward to seeing it.

. I don't like the stupid side by side split on tv for sky 3D.
the Tv wasn't set to watch 3D Which for currys is about right, the staff probably didn't know how to set up the tv correctly

3D on the PS3 works very well in my opinion ,you do get a reduction in frame rates due to hardware limitation but this is getting less noticable as developers get used to it ,black ops was superb as is killzone 3 and GT5 is also very nice to play
although tbh i do get a headache for the first 10 mins but it passes and i dont really notice the glasses much now i have a couple of pairs of the new panasonic lightweight ones

      cheers

3D TVs are still quite expensive. Many cost 1,500 or more.

Why not purchase a 3D monitor to play your PS3 on?

You can get a 3D monitor from around 180 for a 22" model. Larger ones can set you back considerably more.

Theoretically there is nothing stopping you from connecting one to your Sky+ HD STB in order to watch the occasional 3D movie either.

If you look around, you can get better deals than this already on the Internet.

Samsung PS50C490 can be bought for 601.48 from Amazon at the moment.

It really depends what you want though. Searching the Internet will find you some really lovely deals at present. It is also worth calling the companies at times to improve the price if you are able.
