Re: New connection - Line stats - Expected speed
Both sockets are just about the same which is good, I would imagine 12+mb easily.

Re: New connection - Line stats - Expected speed
Did you mean the Test socket, there can be a difference.7.52 - Master Socket
I am a bit puzzled as to why your speed should be so low. It usually starts at 4Mb down and 512Kbs up. If your speeds have not started to rise by today(13th) you should call Sky and find out if anything is wrong. DLM should have started by now.

Re: New connection - Line stats - Expected speed
There is still not enough difference to matter, you must have pretty good wiring.
Your speed has not changed so I would phone Sky now and tell them you were connected 5 days ago and DLM has not started, what is wrong. It is possible you have been put on Everyday Lite, so it is better to get it sorted out now.

Re: New connection - Line stats - Expected speed
is there anybody in particular i need to talk too or just the technical line?
dealings with sky tech support previously would indicate they could not spell DLM let alone know what it is.
Also my online account still states that my broadband will be active by the end of the day on the 16th. Would this make any difference?

Re: New connection - Line stats - Expected speed
Yes it could, it is possible it has just been put on a test speed. You would not expect it to be fully enabled so far before the given date. It may still be worth ringing though, if your date is the 16th, DLM does not usually start till about 3 days after the activation date, so you could be on a low speed for a while yet. Most of the Sky support personnel are aware of DLM, so they should be able to advise you what is happening. With a bit of luck you may get one that will configure your line manually and that will be it. It is against their rules but some will do it.Also my online account still states that my broadband will be active by the end of the day on the 16th. Would this make any difference?

Re: New connection - Line stats - Expected speed
I have to say that 2048 /384 is exactly the same speed that I used to get when I was on a capped 2mb line many years ago. The noise margin of 30db is colossal so unless you have exceptionally bad internal wiring I'd say that you were capped.

Re: New connection - Line stats - Expected speed
If his internal wiring was bad then he wouldn't have such a high noise margin, he is capped.

Re: New connection - Line stats - Expected speed
He is on a test speed as he is not due to go live until tomorrow, it will then change to 4096 down and 512 up. Unless he has phoned up and got it manually configued
