Re: Sky router stats (speed, noise, attenuation) explained
Right, I have just connected to the test socket and also removed the ring wire. That seems to have improved my SNR to around 15dB from 9-10dB before. If I understood correctly, that should have also improved my dl speed, but it has not really budged at all. My connection details look like this:
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 3071 kbps 606 kbps
Line Attenuation 47.5 db 27.3 db
Noise Margin 15.1 db 16.0 db
adslctl: ADSL driver and PHY status
Status: ShowtimeRetrain Reason: 0
Channel: FAST, Upstream rate = 606 Kbps, Downstream rate = 3071 Kbps
Link Power State: L0
Mode: ADSL2+
Channel: Fast
Trellis: U:ON /D:ON
Line Status: No Defect
Training Status: Showtime
Down Up
SNR (dB): 15.0 15.5
Attn(dB): 47.5 27.3
Pwr(dBm): 0.0 12.8
Max(Kbps): 5616 708
Rate (Kbps): 3071 606
Again, if I understood correctly, I should get a better download speed considering my snr and attenuation, right ?
If that is the case, then how should I be approaching sky about the problem ?
