      MAC transfer from AOL.

Sky activated on 7 Feb - didn't receive notification so only knew this when couldn't get internet on 8 Feb.

No router so spent ages on phone to Sky - can't say how many different versions of the situation I had from the various people I spoke to - and no-one really wants to take ownership and get things sorted. Still waiting for the router. Customer service sucks!

Same day a friend had similar experience. But this time Sky said she'd already been sent the router but told her it was sent on a date that was before she placed her order with Sky!!! Now they don't have a clue what their doing or when she'll get her router. Customer service non-existent!

Both of us had excellent service from AOL, but were lured by the Sky See, Speak, Surf package. Sky had better be good after this.

Re: New SkyBB Users Who ordered in Janurary Question..

Ordered with "dodgy" F2S MAC (I was given two different MACs - one had to work!) on 170107.

      Activation date of 310107 given.

Order failed (wrong or no postcode entered on order).

Order resubmitted on 190107, with new ETA of 020207.

This order got "stuck in Penfold".

Twice daily 'phone calls to a useful guy called Russell in "Service recovery" got my activation sorted by 020207 - but no freakin' router!

'phoned every department at SKY, and was promised a delivery before 9.00AM on 060207. Didn't arrive so I went to work, and 'er indoors did whatever they do during the day. When she got home, card on mat "Sorry we missed you etc.", so off I go to local Parceline depot and get setup no problems.

Next morning, Parceline arrive with another two similar sized parcels.

They haven't exploded yet so they're no letter bombs, but I don't know what is in those parcels, and don't intend finding out until my router packs in!

Eventually got a router ... problems setting up. Sky said I couldn't use IE7 or Firefox - was even told to contact windows support myself to get a disc with IE6 on it. However, when I tried with IE 6 I still had problems connecting. Tech support was rubbish.

      Have cancelled my broadband!

Have cancelled Sky talk - no faith they could provide an adequate service.

Have cancelled Sky TV (which I had for 7+ years) because I don't like the way I've been treated by Sky over whole broadband business.

I wouldn't recommend Sky to anyone - actually I'd recommend avoiding them like the plague or avian flu.

Re: New SkyBB Users Who ordered in Janurary Question..

Argh!!!! I came home today and went on the net to do some work and no connection tried everything, so I called up Sky, they said I'm now with them as my line has been activated.... but only one problem... I have no router!!!!

So I asked where the hell it was as I was told it would be there couple days after I received my letter saying my activation date, I haven't even received that yet!!

They said there gonna send an email to Parcel Line to ask where it is and I'm gonna call back up tomorrow and find out, if it's not sorted tomorrow I'm going back to AOL even though they are crap. Really cheesed off now!

Did they tell you your keyboard caps lock was the problem?

I'm so angry - I just had to retype it all

Hope you get it sorted soon

If you are on Connect it normally takes a few days from connection, as has been reported the last few days. Hang on its worth it!
