From Pipex Homecall and their congested, heavilly FUPed IPStream product. Between 5pm to 11pm speed dropped to about 0.3Mb/s. Sky, for me, is about 40 times faster during the evenings and I could, if I wished, download about 80 times more, too!

Re: Migrated from:

From Pipex.

As with the user above between the hours of 5pm and 11pm the speed dropped to about 0.3Mb/s and would drive me mad.
Sky, for me, is much faster at the moment (this is only week 1) and I've been very impressed with their overall set-up and installation.

I'm gutted that they don't support VPN though and frankly wouldn't have came to them had I realised this. As someone who must be able to access work email from home, this is killing me !

FWIW my wife uses logmein to access her PC at work from home. Have you considered this?

No reason why you shouldn't be able to edit it, we don't close them off after any time period has passed.

Can you try now Geoff? I think I may have found a rogue setting.

Plus net for me, and NTLhell before that. Sky are by far the best ISP i've encountered, much faster than both of the others, cheaper and far fewer disconnections.

In reply to the point above, I regularly check and deal with my office e-mails from home. I use Web access via Exchange. I use the ip address and excahnge as the address, and then log on. Works perfectly. As a back up, what about RDC? Any windows PC XP on has this.
