Never switch off any of my routers in the last 6 years. Can not find the power switch.

Re: Sky router on or off?

I must admit I've left it switched on mainly because I can't easily reach the wall switch to turn it off!

I'm not sure about this low power consumption it gets pretty damn warm to me, I originally had it lying flat and I went to pick it up and it nearly burnt my fingers! I kid you not. If that was the CPU cooler or Northbridge heatsink on my PC I'd be seriously worried. I stood it on end after that it doesn't look too pretty but the airflow is better. The PSU gets pretty toasty too. I might try and plug it in somewhere easier to reach to turn it off.

I have switched it off more than once when i was installing a new filter plate and cable and it reconnected at exactly the same speed as before.

I turn mine off because it is next to my bed and I can't sleep with green lights flashing all the time!

Re: Sky router on or off?

I was. At the time of my post I was with Freedom2Surf, using my trusty old Edimax router. This had a convenient power switch on the front.

Since my money saving move to SKY, I now leave my router on because it doesn't have aforementioned switch, and also in case it doesn't reconnect!
