Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.

The design is fine, howveer I do feel as the forums are a bit squashed with the stuff on the right hand side.

Agree with DTR42 and AlanB, too busy, dont use the links on the right hand side and would prefer to see them on the right if i did use them and lost the option to use another skin.

To many different forum topics where people have to look for different things, could these be consolidated?

Why 2 menus at the top? (Black and Grey ones)

Purely because there is a html version been developed as well.

Which will will replace the main homepage eventually.

The grey bar is needed for the forum functions, whereas the black bar is for the html, if that makes sense. So on the html version, there will be nothing on the grey bar.

We ran out of time to launch all the new features, but these will come.

Things we are going to be doing:

The ability to use the old skin, which is there just not enabled, as we wanted everyone to see the new skin. If a member has selected in their options, the element skin, they would never have seen the new one. The new skin is forced to every user, until we enable the choice.

Another option is the old style posts, ie the avatar on the left of the post.

I think we should also look at adding the menu on the right to chooseable on the left

This was decided so as people could get to where they wanted from one page at any time, rather than have to delve the forums for the information.

We have nearly 3000 unique visitors every day but nowhere near 3000 signups per day. Hence we decided to add all the most useful info on the menu system.

For example the chat, people complained that no-one used it, so we made it prominent, instead of looking for a news story 2 months ago when we launched it.

The Rate my Sky, same scenario, as I don't want it in my sig, as it makes my sig look too busy.

The feedback is great and as I have said before, we will take it on board to improve things

My two penn'oth....much better design but........

.....and I totally understand the need for advertising income to offset some of the costs of the site (and I know we've had the Sky TV (for new customers only offer) and AOL discussion before) but....to create a more professional appearance you really must make the advertising on the site relevant to the users of the site or make a decision to lose it altogether.

I actually think it is better having an advertiser not directly related to our main topic! It assures people of the boards independence. It always will be but if we were taking an income from Sky, it would seem to some as though we have a vested interest. Just my opinion and as Newsreader has said Sky were offered the chance to advertise here.
