It's not up to Sky to cancel your previous contract, that's your job.

As I have never moved between ISPs before I perhaps rather stupidly thought that once I was with Sky my old BT account would be cancelled. Of course it wasn't and it took almost two months of two'ing and fro'ing before both the account was cancelled and they had sent me a cheque for a small amount they owed me as I hads been billed for a full month when I had officially finished with them.

So when you have moved ISps, always make sure you old ISP account is cancelled and that they/you do owe money.

I voted yes, but only after installing a billion 7402G . With the netgear it was worse .

Thats a good thing and bad in a way. During the netgear days, I had to learn the technical intracracies of setting up a router, resetting it (often) , the noise margin attuning and finding out what all these funny numbers and settings were for . Now im a router cabbage and forgotten it all again. It just works all the time now.

Re: Sky Broadband - better than your old ISP?

I posted no as the speed is the same as my last ISP although the price is a couple of quid cheaper ( I am on connect) theres no chance of me getting 8 MB anytime soon.

The major gripe I have is the fact that I have to rebbot my router at least 4 or 5 times a day .

Re: Sky Broadband - better than your old ISP?

      Hi all,
OK I've only been with you guys for a week, but, so far
most definately yes. With Pipex Homecall I had a FUP of 3GB/month during peak time, or so an Homecall employee informed us on DSLZone. Peak time was between 5 to 11pm 7 days a week! During these times I was lucky to get download speeds of 0.4Mb/s. Now I get between 13 and 14 Mb/s (depending on test site) constantly any time of day or night.
      So, it's no contest!!

      Regards everone,

      Graham

Voted no as i have gone from an average d/l speed of 1.5mb to 256kpps and neither BT or Sky can explaine why.
