@Rick-UK, see; Sky Netgear DG834GT utility version 0.4
"detailed modem statistics" click that then go back and then hit download, Open that file with notepad, and read the first few lines.

I was under the impression all Mid packages are Fastpath unless you have connection problems .

      Re: Fast Path or Interleaved!

afaik BT determine the setting for this initially.(on Connect Package) All new connections are or should be Interleaved as standard.

Although the downside of Interleaved is your pings, the benefits are great for things like VOD (Video on Demand) and we all know that one of Sky's aims for their Broadband is to deliver VOD content.

Which is great if you want that, or in some cases poor if you are a gamer.

      Re: Fast Path or Interleaved!

It is not allways easy to acertain whether you are on Fastpath or Interleaved. I am on Max, syncing at 16380 (downstream) and my connection came with an interleave depth set at 128 (down) and 8 (up). However, at the top of the detailed statistics the Channel is shown as Fast.
The latter appears to be some sort of reporting bug. One way to tell for sure is to look at the section headed G.DMT and/or ADSL2. At the bottom of these sections is the letter D (short for depth). In my case this reads something like:
      D: 128 8
This shows that my interleave is 128 (down) and 8 (up)

Yours may well be 64 8, especially if you're on Mid.

It has been said that all new connections for Max are set to interleave by default and that to get that changed by Sky is not allways easy. Naturally, Sky prioritorizes stability over low pings for new customers. It also pays to think hard before asking for a reduction in your depth of interleave as, especially if your line is prone to errors, you may end up syncing at a lower rate or having so many errors that your line becomes unstable.

Interesting. I am on max package and ping about 25ms in games and my depth is at 64 : 4

I am guessing this is ok as i ping great in games. But should i be on 128 : 8 ?

This is a known issue, the router does not report it correctly on adsl2+
