Registered for Sky broadband knowing that my exchange - Bloomsbury - is already LLU enabled and used by Easynet. Reply from Sky - no go!

Tried again with slightly different version of address and bingo! Strange.
Don't know why they don't use a simple phone number checker like most ISP's so that you know instantly if you can get the service.

i think what would be cool if we can have a sticky thread with known signups etc. Then we will have a database etc of who can get SKY and at what exchange etc

      Will ask Satdish later

interesting results so far, if i am to understand it properly by the answers, 15 out of 17 would sign up for it if it was available, as we are all customers (at the mo) of other ISP's thats gotta be quite worrying for them!

i agree i think the main attraction is the size of the BskyB company after all they have got more money then most isp's put together and with that support there bound to have a pretty good disaster management.

Personally I would never use a free service such as this as my main broadband service however if I had a second line then I would definately order one as a backup...

well that all depends on what you will use the broadband for for me its just general internet use for me and the kids but if you use it mainly for work and need a 100% dependable line then no its not for you

am i missing something here Daniel? this is practically the same as what you have now - an LLU connection, up to 24mb which is cheaper than you are paying at the moment, and has the potential to be better supported than your current ISP?
