      imo, Its pretty poor/rubbish. As generally "FUP" means something different to each person. Unless they define it clearly and/or remove "Unlimited" it will stay that way.

      Re: Sky Fair Usage Policy

      How will I know if my Sky Broadband usage is excessive?

      We think to impose an actual figure on what we consider to be "excessive" use is not necessarily helpful and may penalise users unfairly. What is deemed excessive will be determined by a number of factors including (but not limited to) the length of time which your excessive usage continues for, as well as the type of activity you use your Sky Broadband for.

      If, in our reasonable opinion, you have breached this FUP, we may contact you to let you know that your usage is excessive and is affecting the Sky Network.

      If after we have contacted you initially your usage continues to be excessive, we will contact you again to ask you to reduce your usage. If after a reasonable period of time your usage still remains excessive then we may do one or more of the following things by notice in writing:

      (a) impose a monthly usage cap on your use of Sky Broadband which you must not exceed;

      (b) group you together with other users in the same excessive usage category as you;

      (c) charge you fair and reasonable costs for your excessive usage (and any reasonable administration costs);

      (d) suspend your use of Sky Broadband;

      (e) suspend some or all of your Email Tools; or

      (f) end your Contract in accordance with Condition 11 of your Contract.

      Thats you done for keiran2k8 from the data you download i think you will get (f) enforced on you lol

      Re: Sky Fair Usage Policy

      Hi Jonny,

      Lol. Thats the same for every ISP ^^ Mumble, Jumble (imo). Unless they are prepared to state an exact ~GB a month. Then that still stands. Its almost as if they can change it every month, Hence it has been worded that way.

      Regardless, Our "term" ended almost 5 Months ago. So feel free to disconnect us, We are due to be disconnected early next month anyway.

      Re: Sky Fair Usage Policy

      Sky's FUP is probably one of the fairest in the land

      Unlike keiran2k8 I would much rather the unspecified than a hard and fast GB figure that means the ISP can charge for going over. The Sky FUP limits are entirely dynamic and you have to be in serious over-use to start attracting the attention. There is a statistic that says that 80% of the ISP's data capacity is being used by 10% of the user base. While that does not necessarily impinge on the other 90% of users it does go to illustrate how much is tolerated before FUP may kick in.

      Any ISP would be insane not to guard against over-use by the few who insist on downloading the entire Internet each night. But at least when Sky say that Max is "unlimited" it is to all intents and purposes - even if not in the strict and pedantic meaning of the word.

      Re: Sky Fair Usage Policy

      I agree with NetGeezer at least at this stage i dont believe that Sky have enforced their fair usage policy to anyone regardless of which package they are on and how much they have downloaded. With also no reported signs of traffic shaping at any time of the day, Sky have in my opinion the best policy.
