If you search you'll find a number of posts - the gist of which are that you need to use a client that can encrypt the traffic. (Hint: open up utorrent and select forced protocol encryption)

i did that exchange check, which is really great and useful , i am within 1km of hte exchange which is good, but says i can only get tiscalli, not sky etc, so poo. i remember sky saying it will be availble in 4 months or something, but how can i find out?
also, do u think that is the reason why i am getting slow speeds with p2p software but fine with websites and stuff?

Re: Annoying problem with bit torrent

I'm getting a similar or identical problem:

Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
      WAN PPPoA 19964 20950 0 153 378 07:13:00
      LAN 10M/100M 16926 22654 0 377 191 07:13:40
      WLAN 11M/54M 1915 0 0 22 0 07:13:32

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 8096 kbps 384 kbps
Line Attenuation 11.0 db 9.5 db
Noise Margin 12.8 db 14.0 db
I use Ares peer-to-peer and uTorrent ... Ares works fine doing ordinary p2p but neither Ares and UTorrent work for bittorrent.

It was working fine (on uTorrent) a few days ago ... maybe Sky are applying restrictions of some sort (I'm on the mid package)?

      Kyu

You've prob have too many open connections with your utorrent program (happend to me) or you have too many uploads *hogging connectins*.
