      Re: Limewire

Last three times I've used Limewire and also tried bit torrent (not sure how to though) I've landed a virus too! I have used Limewire years ago without any virus' but that could be sheer luck.
I have up to date AV and firewall AND spy remover running, but something got through and after having to reformat my pc as much as 3 times in a couple of weeks I'm not using them again.

I did run AV etc but it didn't pick anything up, I just got weird things happening-same thngs each time-so playing safe now.

I also found with Limewire that no matter what you typed in there was a load of what looked like porn being shown-i'm no prude but enough is enough.

So if your 15 year old is using Limewire, watch out ))

      Re: Limewire

limewire still a hotbed for viruses although it is hit and miss some links are good but few and far between stick to torrent like utorrent, bittorent, bitlord1.1,bitcomet etc google for larger list search sites such as mininova.org are good for finding downloads and giving comments as to wether worth downloading or warning of fakes or viruses etc

not that i condone any of the above sites but thought i would put everybody straight about limewire have been caught out with it in the past

      Re: Limewire

Direct connect better know has DC++ which seems to hide below the radar.

DC++ is an open source client for Windows for the Direct Connect network this P2P is a highly ranked piece of software among the projects hosted at Sourceforge.

New users continue to find benefits from the software every day not only can you download you donít have too, is a community of hubs most are moderated that donít allow dirty files pron, you can chat, play trivia, and many other text based games.
if you stick with the small UK base hubs most allow you in with very little or even no share......
