Re: bitcomet listen port blocked

Your best bet if you have unblocked the ports on the router and software firewall is to make a DMZ ( demilitarized zone )
In the router page this will open all ports to the pc and remove this pr from the routers firewall ,

Re: bitcomet listen port blocked

Hello man,

First off i need to inform you this will remove the hardware firewall protection from the router to your system ,

But if you wish to do this then to in to the router page :

http://192.168.0.1 User name = admin Password = sky ,
From there click on advanced ,
The fisrt thing you will see is ( Default DMZ server )
You will need to enter the last part of you computer ip address ,
To get this on your pc click on start then run - in run type " CMD " press enter you will get a black screen type in here " ipconfig " it will get you yout pc`s ip address ,
From there go back to the router page and enter the last part of the ip address to the default dmz server and click apply ,
After a few mins close every thing and check the port again .

He's got a modem, not a router!! You don't set up ports on a modem.

Re: bitcomet listen port blocked

I had a similar problem and had to physically reset the modem - there is a small pin that you need reset at the back. If your not sure were it is check the manual.

And if you do that then you lose all the innate protection that being behind a NAT router offers. Not what I'd call a "best bet". Far better to set the portforwarding up properly or use UPnP.

Either you've not set up the portforwarding properly or the port is being blocked by something like McAfee or even the Windows firewall.

Bitcomet is UPnP compatible and unless you've turned off UPnP in the router, you shouldn't really need to portforward. So it looks like it is a firewall/McAfee type problem to me.
