    Multiroom offer

This is a discussion on Multiroom offer within the Offers forums, part of the Sky & Sky+ TV category; At £109 for the box, even so, like you say it is a no brainer....

      Re: Multiroom offer

Had a really decent Sky man today - moved from Hertfordshire for a quieter life apprently! Arrived on time after a 5hr advance warning.

Really tidy, cleaned up after his drilling, did all the cables absolutely neatly with proper double clips, including the telephone line. The first one I had over 5 years ago insisted I did all the drilling!!

Very happy with the whole proceedings, and the new 2TB box is very responsive. Didn't see a manual in the box though - do such things exist? Also noticd some channels are in yellow, others in blue, not sure why - I'm sure someone knowledgable will be along to enlighten me!!

Cheers guys - and thanks for all the info along the way.

User manuals are no longer supplied with boxes on new installations and self install. If you require a user manual, You can either download a PDF version or a copy can be obtained by writing to a freepost address. See Sky PDF Manuals
I don't know if a manual has been produced yet for the 2TB Sky+ HD stb but you could ask if writing otherwise download the 1TB Sky+ HD stb in PDF format I doubt that there will be much difference. As for highlighting yellow text shows programmes produced in HD and light blue text denotes pay per view content that has already started.

Do you mean the programme listings or the actual channels?

Essentially there is an option to highlight HD content. This is highlighted in Yellow.

Looking at what is on right now, having scrolled down a couple of pages, on ITV2 HD Peter Pan & Evan Almighty are in HD, whilst on ITV3 HD Doc Martin is only SD, but will be upscaled to suite a HD TV if you have set it up to work at 1080i all the time.

There is other highlighting available for subtitle and audio description too, for those who would benefit from these features.

Interesting, the older HD box didn't show the HD available channels in yellow. Perhaps the forced s/ware download at setup has initialised this on the new box, or this is now the default mode for the 2TB box.

Can't find a mention in the manuals online, though I can see on some of the images the yellow highlighted text.

      Thanks

I think that the option is enabled by default.

If I remember correctly it was enabled on my original DRX890 as well.

Strange - not on this box, never has been. Might poke around in the menus tomorrow

See page 23 of the manual:
A programme broadcast in High Definition will have the letters HD in its programme information bar:
      • While watching the programme, press i on your remote.
      • From the Sky Guide listings, just highlight the programme and check the programme information in the top left corner. In full screen mode, highlight the programme and press i.
      • HD programmes are highlighted in yellow in the TV Guide listings so they’re easier to spot. You can find this setting in Options > Customise. Under Highlight Programmes Originated in HD press left/right to select ON/OFF. Press green button (Save Settings) when you’re done.
