      Introduce a friend offer question

I introduced a friend who had his sky+ installed on 30/11/2007. Prior to this I had an email saying 'thanks for introducing your friend' from Sky. Since his installation date I have heard nothing from sky, how long does it take before I get my free sky+ box? (I already have sky+ but still want the box)
      thanks,
      Mick

Re: Introduce a friend offer question

yes, the email from stated the following, plus my friends installation was completed on 30th November:-
"Thank you for introducing Gary to us. We'll be in touch soon to tell them all about Sky.

Remember, your friends need to register for Sky TV before 30 November 2007 to ensure you both get a free Sky+ box. Look out for an email confirming your free gift!

Know anyone else who'd like Sky TV? You can recommend as many friends as you like and get a free Sky+ box* or 50 of M&S vouchers for everyone who joins before 30 November 2007. So don't forget to spread the word.

      Thanks again.

Well I wouldn't hold out for a quick response. I introduced a friend, and got Skys email on 10/11/07 asking me to complete the online form. Several phonecalls later and still waiting.....

Re: Introduce a friend offer question

I also introduced a friend. When they took up the offer they did not know my account details and so just gave a name. They were given their account ref and told to tell me to telephone Sky and we would then get the M&S vouchers. Each time I telephone SKY I get some person who says I have the wrong number and gives me another. But when I call that number I get another person who says exactly the same thing. Does anyone know the options I should choose on dialling? 0870 numbers cost more than normal landline numbers and so I don't want to keep on the phone for about 7 minutes each time.

i hope someone from sky is monitoring these posts as the whole thing with refer a friend seems to be a rip off - excellent service for the friend, and the existing customer gets nothing. any future recommendations to my friends will be not to join sky!

      Hi Mick,

I know with the voucher promotion, They get sent after 60 Days/2 Months of them having Sky.

If you requested the box, Then I guess things might be slightly different. I guess if you ring Sky, The Introduce a Friend line, You might be able to get a little more information ; 08701 942 095
have you tried this suggestion from FibreOptic in one of the other threads you posted ?

Re: Introduce a friend offer question

      Hmm,

I am a little worried here because I have just referred my mum (on the 8th December) and spoke to the gent on the phone specifically stating it was on the Free sky+ box for friend and customer - refer a friend scheme. Now my mum had sky installed today and she confirmed it was the sky+ box.
From what I read on the sky website on the promotional page (which now is no longer in existance and no archive as to the offer details). I am sure though that I read once the friends sky is installed and they have paid for the first months viewing one should call them and ask for their free box also...

I have to admit I wont be in the slightest happy if I have to wait months on end for it....
      Regards,
